Facebook Introduces Boomerang Support and Selfie Mode For Messenger Users

Good news for Facebook Messenger users: Facebook has recently introduced two new camera features of its messenger app: Boomerang support and selfie mode.

Moreover, Facebook Messenger users can also use new AR (augmented reality) stickers in their pictures and videos. If you want to add an AR object, then all you have to do is press the camera icon shown next to a sticker and add it as an AR on your photo or video. This new version of AR is an extended version of the already available feature known as AR effects that offer its users access to selfie masks or world effects.

After these two new additions, the Messenger users can now use five different camera features including normal, video, text, boomerang, and selfie. But that is still less than what Instagram offers to its users in terms of camera features. Yet, the new features are very well incorporated into the Facebook Messenger app.

If you are an Apple user, then this update is quite significant for the users who still have the older version of the iPhone that doesn’t include the portrait mode that the Apple introduced in iPhone 7 Plus. Don’t worry if your iPhone doesn’t support dual cameras you can now produce a selfie solely through Facebook Messenger software.

According to Facebook, they want people to use messenger more often during this holiday season and that is the reason why they introduced these features nowadays. More accurately, According to Facebook, this is the only time of the year when people use the app more in terms of overall messages sent.

So, what are you waiting for? You can enjoy these two features from now on. Whether you are iOS and Android users you will be getting this update soon and it will be available in both redesigned apps of the Messenger and its older version.
